A tour through the Riverland and Mallee regions of South Australia, the northern parts of Victoria, and then 'greener pastures' after Wycheproof. Finally a high speed drop down the ranges through Bilpin to Rooty Hill in the western suburbs of Sydney.

Please ask the RO to email the Excel spreadsheet file showing the many other permanent routes you can select along the route, either before you start, or in transit. Email the RO to have your selection(s) entered into the on-line permanents registration page. Many 50s, 100s, 200s, 300s, 400s etc are highlighted for you to choose from.

But a permanent from any town to any town, is also valid.

Riders can ask for an out and return route to be entered into the system from any town on the spreadsheet to any other town shown. The time for permanents are calculated on actual route length, not the nominal length. So it does not matter what the actual route length is, there is no time penalty for 'extra distance'.

A route from a town into Adelaide and return, or into Sydney and return, also easily set up if desired.

The minimum average speeds for road Permanents (including stops) are:
•15 kph for events up to 699 km
•13.3 kph for events 700 to 1299 km
•12 kph for events 1300 to 1899 km
•10 kph for events 1900 to 2499 km
•200 km per day for events over 2499 km

BP Ain't No Mountain High Enough Return Kay Ct, Mackay

Staying off the highway as much as possible whilst avoiding any major hills before Eungella Range, this ride is a beautiful roll. There's no way to disguise it, Eungella Range is a major climb. Only 4.5km, but up to 20% gradient and very little that's not uphill makes it very difficult. Fortunately there's plenty of time so you even a bit of walking should see you avoid cut off times. The views back over the Pioneer Valley are magnificent. Don't forget your camera. Once we're at the top, head on down to Broken River where you can catch your breath before some exploring then returning along the same route. You'll need to be wary of those cattle grids on the exhilarating roll back down the Mountain.
