Never Tire 1000 (2021)
This 1,000km ride explores the hills and plains of the central west of NSW, to the north of Forbes which is the start and finish. The course consists of two interconnected loops and follows mainly quiet and scenic roads. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35483903
On the second day the long climb of the Warrumbungle Mountains will be a serious challange but you're bound to be impressed by the spectacular views of the rocky crags and peaks as you approach the range during the morning. Apart from the Warrumbungles, the terrain is generally subdued.
The route includes 12 km of gravel road. The gravel surface is generally of good quality but also holds few large bumps. After rain the surface is slippery but it dries quickly.
The two primary overnight stops are Gilgandra (360kms) and Warren (730kms). A second night at Gilgandra (641kms) instead of Warren is possible. Bag drops will be made to the accommodation of your choice in these locations.
Support will also consist of a full evening meal at Gilgandra on both the first and second nights and a basic i.e. uncooked breakfast at Gilgandra on the morning of the second day. Refreshments will be provided at Tooraweenah (430kms), Mendooran (590kms) and late on the third night after food services have closed, if necessary.
