Crossing the Hawkesbury River on the Lower Portland Ferry - not a car to be seen!

The ever popular River Ride is on once again with a 'mixed terrain' option being offered for both distances.

Details for the ride are -

Ride Description:

The feature of this ride is a scenic route along side the Hawkesbury River.  The sealed road routes are mostly flat for the first 100kms (or 150kms if doing the 200), a few hills are thrown in for the last 50kms.

Following the popularity of the 200km mixed terrain option, a 150km mixed terrain option is now also offered.  The mixed terrain 200's longest sectors of unsealed road are Greens Rd/Bicentenary Rd on the other side of the River to the sealed routes and, on the way back from St Albans, Settlers Rd.  With a total of 30kms of unsealed roads, the first sector is a short one on Tizzana Rd and the final bit of unsealed road is Laughtondale Gully Rd which does have the plus of missing the very steep climb out of Wisemans Ferry.  The 150km mixed terrain route takes in the Greens Rd/Bicentenary Rd and Laughtondale Gully Rd unsealed sections.
