Permanents

Permanent rides have been established for the enjoyment of members. Permanents can be ridden at anytime with prior agreement from the Ride Organiser. Audax Australia uses an electronic e-Permanent Registration system. This system relies on electronic processing of the brevet i.e. mailing of brevets or ride entry forms.

Cairns: Cairns to Cooktown

  300 km

A nice route that shows the diverse range of scenery in Far North Queensland. A word of caution, this route is challenging and goes through some sparsely populated areas with long sections of limited water available and limited mobile phone overage. It also gets pretty hot so do not do not undertake unless you have the required fitness and pre-arranged support including food and water. Further information/Registration

Landsborough: Hinterland Musings

200 km   This ride is for the experienced, bold and energetic randonneur. The ride begins and ends at Landsborough. It includes a great deal of climbing, with two very steep climbs (Postman’s Track and the Obi Obi) that are unrideable in the wet due to the inevitability of rear wheel spin. There are also two very steep descents on gravel, one being 6 km long and the other being 2.6 km long. These two sections would be difficult to ride if the road surface was wet. The remainder of the ride is on sealed roads. The gravel sections do not require anything more than ordinary road tyres on an ordinary road bike. Food and water is available at many points along the route during daylight hours, with water also being available after hours at public facilities in Landsborough, Maleny, Montville, Palmwoods and Mooloolah.Further information/Registration
