Opperman All Day Trial - Team Brevet
780km

This is for Team Brevet attempting to set a new record.

The Fleche Opperman All Day Trial (The Oppy) is a 24-hour team time trial held annually by Audax Australia. The Oppy is an event for teams of three to five bicycles. Each team must ride at least 360km and finish at a designated location in each state... and if you're not up for 24 hours of riding, try the Petit Oppy (180 km in 14 hours).

Auto-refresh: (every 5 minutes)

Riders and Checkpoints

Click on a rider icon to display the riders name, location and estimated distance along the course. Rider icons are coloured by category (generally different ride lengths) and will have the riders initials. Click on a checkpoint icon Checkpoint Marker to display the distance, location description and closing times. Clicking anywhere on the route will display approximate distance.

Tabs

Click on the tab icon to open the tab. To close the tab click on the icon again (it will be highlighted blue when the tab is open).

Filter Tracked Riders Tab

List of riders with tracking devices. Selecting a category will display only riders in that category, such as Males, Females or a distance category when an event has riders participating in multiple lengths. Clicking on a heading displays the list of riders and shows only the icons of the riders in that category on the map. Clicking the All category will restore all riders icons.

Click on the rider's icon in the list and the icon on the map will bounce, making it easier to find. Click on the rider's name in the list to display the rider's information on the map.

Ride Information Tab

Display basic information about the event such as name, distance, a description and the start and end time of the ride in your local time. (All times are shown in the viewers timezone, not the event timezone) unless otherwise noted. This tab also has links to twitter and a checkpoint times spreadsheet (if available).

List all Riders Tab

Displays a list of all riders in the event, sorted by surname and firstname, regardless off if a tracker is being carried or not. Where a tracking device is being carried a link to the trackers website is provided.

Settings Tab

By default the page will auto-refresh every 5 minutes. It will update the locations of riders icons only, it doesn't reload all the data so has low data usage for mobile broadband users. Unclick to disable auto-refresh.

Refresh Positions Button

Checks the position of riders and moves icons to new locations if new GPS data is available. It is much preferable to refresh using this button rather than the browser refresh. This button only gets location data so uses much less data and is much faster than doing a full browser refresh. Using the refresh button in the application also allows the application to give more accurate speed and location data.

Times / Distance

Click on a rider icon to display location and estimated distance along the route. The distance is an estimate. It's calculated using this algorithm: find the closest point along the route to the report GPS position. Check if this seems reasonable:
  • If the rider has a valid previous position check if it would be feasible to be at the new position based on the previous location and time.
  • If the rider does not have a valid previous position then use the time and distance using some preset min/max disances to narrow the search.
The estimate is based on the closest route position to the reported GPS position. This may cause problems on routes which go over the same road, such as out and back rides, but it does use time and previous known location to attempt to sanity check.
